FLOOD RESCUE

THE SWIRLING WATERS AROUND HIM SHOW
NO HOPE FOR THE LITTLE BOY.
HE LOOKS AHEAD AND STROKING SLOW
HIS CLINGING PUP, SO COY.

HIS TREMBLING BODY SOAKED AND COLD
THE THIN, PALE, LIPS THEY PRAY;
HIS BELOVED GRAN SO SICK AND OLD
WAS CARRIED AWAY BY THE SPRAY.

THE WATERS, THEY TUCK AND PULL AND TRY
TO TAKE HIM AS WELL AND HIS DOG
HE LOOKS AROUND IN A FAREWELL SIGH
WHEN A SPEED BOAD DASHES ALONG.

BRAVE PEOPLE ARE SAVING HIM, HIS PUP
THE ONLY ONES LEFT OF THE FAM’LY,
CORDED STRONG ARMS, THEY LIFT HIM UP
AND OFF THEY SPEED HIMTO SAFETY!

YOU HEROES, WHO RECUE LIVES , BE PRAISED
AS YOU RISK SO MUCH BY YOUR EFFORT;
WHEN FEAR, DREAD AND DESPAIR IS RAISED
YOUR REWARD WILL COME FROM THE LORD.
